Band Day Uniform and Policies
In preparation for Band Day, please keep in mind the proper uniform and conduct. First, make sure you have the proper uniform. As always, the LHAB uniform consists of a sleeved all-white shirt, all-black pants, all-black closed-toe shoes, black socks and orange issued vests. Please, no grays, faded blacks, or unusual shades. Its not hard to find these items and you cannot march unless you have the proper uniform. Hats are acceptable in the stands and on the sidelines up until the call to attention. There will be no hats of any kind worn on the field. This includes drum majors. The only exceptions are former members of the Texas Stars who are permitted to march with the hats issued as part of their uniform. Sunglasses are permitted during day games. If you have any questions or problems, please see an officer and well do our best to help you.
Only LHAB members may march down and into the stadium in the band formation. Family members and guests must stay off of the street and remain on the sidewalk. Only LHAB members may enter the stadium through the tunnel when we march in. All family members and guests must show a ticket and enter though a regular ticket gate. If you have children that should not enter the stadium unsupervised, it is your responsibility to find someone to escort your children to the seats but LHAB will try to assist as much as possible. You may elect to escort your children to the stadium and join us in the seats. When marching back to the band hall, any LHAB members with guests or children must move to the very back of the band.
Please also remember to exercise good judgment in the stands and before the game. As performers, we are guests of The University and are subject to their rules and regulations. Alcohol is not allowed in the stadium or on campus, and intoxicated members will not only be prohibited from marching, but may also be subject to suspensions or expulsion. Essentially, use good judgment with respect to alcohol and well all have a good time at Band Day.
