It's been a boring summer so far, so why not stir up the pot.
Can we ever move to a time where we get rid of the horrible orange vests? Yes, I feel proud to wear it on Band Day and other Alumni events, but they always make me feel 20 years older than I really am. They seem like something my mom bought at a garage sale 40 years ago.
I know there is a desire to get more recent alum to come to Alumni Band Days, but I think the outdated ugly vests are a big deterrent to them. What's wrong with just the black pants and white shirts? Or black/orange, khaki(gasp!)/white, khaki/orange, etc. Our dues are cheap enough (in comparison to some other alumni band organizations/schools that make the members pay for the game tickets too!), that I would be willing to pay an additional $15-$25 to have a standard shirt made. Heck, I bet Rudy's, Taco Bell or the KVUE weather dude would gladly pay for naming rights on our sleeves to help offset the cost!

How about an orange and white polo with the LHAB logo? Preferably in a nice and cool fabric (Coolmax, etc).
On the other hand, the white shirt and vest allows for easier layering on those cooler occasions. It also makes it easier to be in uniform for those local LHAB gigs, especially if you have some "subs" playing who haven't even gone to college yet.
