The 2019 Spring Football Game is this Saturday, April 13th at 6:30 p.m. at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium!  All LHAB members are invited to join LHB.

Bring your instrument and play along, or just come and enjoy an evening with your favorite college band!  Wear a burnt orange shirt, comfortable shoes, and khaki pants or shorts.

Please print copies of our Traditional Music ahead of time, which can be downloaded by logging into the Members section of the LHAB website.

The schedule of the day’s events will be as follows:

3:30 p.m. – rehearsal in Band Hall (immediately following Normandy rehearsal)
4:10 p.m. – depart for BEVO Boulevard
4:30 p.m. – Bevo Boulevard Parade
5:30 p.m. – Stadium Stampede (proceed directly to stadium for game)
6:30 p.m. – Kickoff

See the map below for parking directions.  DeLoss Dodds Way and Trinity Street will be closed that day, so plan to park in either the San Jacinto Garage (enter from the San Jacinto side) or in the LBJ lot along Red River Street.  Discounted parking will not be available.

Hope to see you there!

40 for 40 Thank You

The Longhorn Band wishes to thank everyone who donated to the UT 40 for 40 campaign last week.  The outpouring support resulted in over $323,000 for student scholarships! Those funds are now invested so that future band members will benefit year after year.

And if that accomplishment were not enough, here are some other recent LHB accomplishments:

  • Supporting our Men’s Basketball team at the NIT as part of the Pep Band.
  • Supporting our Baseball team at the Texas vs. Texas A&M game.
  • Supporting our Women’s Volleyball team during a preseason match as part of the Pep Band.
  • Being recognized at UT Honors Day this past Saturday.
  • Performing in the Wind Symphony as part of a joint performance with musicians from the Austin Youth Orchestra
  • Raising funds for endowed scholarships with Tau Beta Sigma and Kappa Kappa Psi.
  • Performing in the Symphony Band and in the Wind Ensemble with special guest composer Omar Thomas.
  • Raising funds for the Longhorn Band Student Association.

Our LHB students are amazing, and your support helps them to achieve great things.  Thanks for all you do!

Hook ’em,
LHAB
